With all the talk about the iconic transformation of the Harrah mansion into The Club at Rancharrah, it should not eclipse the world-class and unique amenity of the Rancharrah Equestrian Center. This facility is a wonderful place to connect with the equestrian roots of the ranch and simply enjoy the beauty of both the rider and horse either through boarding, training, lessons or attending an event all within walking distance of home. Although not a part of the HOA, Members of The Club at Rancharrah have privileged access to the private facility under a separate agreement and can enjoy all it has to offer including boarding, world-class training, lessons and access to miles of trails.
It’s no secret that Rancharrah is home to one of the world’s most impressive and renowned equestrian centers. Cutting horse champion John Harrah spared no expense when he built the arena to pursue his passion in 1997. The private 52,000-square foot climate-controlled facility is equipped with a championship size ring, a vet clinic, washing facilities, six tack rooms, gated access and over 65 stalls allowing horses to stroll indoors and out. In addition, the Equestrian Center also features a viewing room complete with bar and announcer sound system providing spectators with a comfortable location to take in the activity of the arena.
Located just steps from Bartley Ranch Regional Park and Anderson Ranch, a private bridge provides direct access to the expansive trail system. Combined, the two ranches provide a total of 126 acres, four riding arenas, and over five miles of trails—the perfect playground for competition, horse training and horseback riding.
From dressage to western, barrel racing to show jumping, the Equestrian Center at Rancharrah is equipped to handle training for multiple disciplines. The trainers, operators and riders are within a world-class league of their own. At the helm of the private facility is Mike Winkel, a Reno native, equestrian veteran and nationally recognized cutting horse champion with over 35-years of experience. Legend Bobby Ingersoll spearheads training efforts. A decorated equestrian champion himself, Bobby is a three-time world champion snaffle bit futurity rider, PCCHA cutting futurity champion rider, and inducted in the NRCHA hall of fame. In addition to Bobby, Emilee Anderson and Mitch Davis round out the trainers at the Equestrian Center.
